MONIQUE CLAIBORNE

Monique is an academic writing, college essay, executive functioning, and candidacy building expert with a track record of guiding students into top universities. For the past 10 years, she has strategically helped students to craft unique narratives that leverage their perspectives, interests, and backgrounds to unlock opportunities that most don’t access until later in life.

Monique’s career as a writing aficionado traces back to her time as a Writing Center Fellow at Princeton University, where she led professional development programming for her colleagues while developing her own writing pedagogy through 50+ writing consultations each semester. There, she supported Princetonians across disciplines with their academic writing, ranging from 5-page freshmen seminar essays to senior theses and doctoral dissertations, as well as personal statements for competitive graduate schools and professional degree programs.

Since then, Monique has partnered with families as an admissions consultant and essay editor through both domestic and international consultancies. She loves all things goal-setting, self-management, narrative writing, critical reading, independent research, leadership development, and entrepreneurship.

When Monique isn’t directly supporting students, she is supporting entrepreneurs as an Executive Coach and Chief of Staff for early-stage technology startups. She gladly applies her coaching and operational prowess to help students develop thoughtful capstone projects, independent research experiences, and occasionally, startups of their own. As an added bonus, Monique activates her extensive network of startups and entrepreneurs to match students with aligned internship opportunities when the fit is right.

Monique graduated from Princeton University with a B.A. in Philosophy and a Certificate in American Studies. She is also a Henry Luce Scholar, which kickstarted her three year stint in South Korea as an education consultant and creative entrepreneur. Highlights of her time in Korea include receiving a Public Diplomacy Grant from the U.S. Embassy, hosting food pop ups inspired by her hometown, and securing a few professional dancing gigs for international artists.
